Aly and I have lived in the Asheville area for about 12 years. Three years ago we bought our land, built our house, and during the winter, built The Roost. The next winter we built The Starling. I grew up in Maine in a solar-powered log cabin with an outhouse and Aly grew up in the Bay Area but we’ve both come to love the mountains. When we’re not working other jobs we constantly work to improve the land and building funky structures on it. We have a 30 lb dog named Avi who is very sweet.

During your stay

We are available at anytime by phone and you can always come knock on our door if you need anything at all. Though our house is hidden by rhododendron, it’s only a short walk from The Starling.
